Formerly named Homenity, now Renovate Simply, is a startup that I lend some of my design and product expertise towards as an advisor. They are looking to compete with the likes of Porch and Home Advisor to provide renovation services over the web.
I have designed and managed the implementation of their renovation calculator that helps homeowners get the quickest and easiest estimate for a home renovation. We believe that the design and usability of the calculator is what differentiates us from the current competitors in the space.
This project was done in my free time (nights and weekends) over the course of a couple months. I created initial wireframes and the process flow of the calculator, as well as the marketing site that feeds into the application. I wanted to make sure that it was a highly visual process and easy to use on all devices with just a few clicks or taps on a mobile device. I wanted to make sure we supported a use case scenario in which a potential homeowner would be able to get an accurate and speedy ballpark renovation estimate quickly when visiting houses with a realtor so they could make better decisions about a housing purchase based on the renovations needed. This was the highest pressure scenario we thought we needed to cover.
Here is the initial process flow of the estimate calculator steps:

Not only have we re-branded from a marketing prospective with a new site and name, but we are in the process of creating a native iPhone app so that we have presence in the app store. None of our competitors are there today and we feel we can become the premiere home renovation app very quickly.
Here are some of the visuals I have assisted with from a UX/Product perspective. The team hopes to have this in production by the end of October:
